AWRAQ began with a simple idea: beautiful henna shouldn’t depend on having the time, money or opportunity to visit a henna artist.

Before AWRAQ, our founder spent years creating intricate henna designs by hand for weddings, Eid and special occasions.

After becoming a mother, finding the time to continue as a henna artist became increasingly difficult.

But the love for henna never disappeared. It inspired a new way to bring beautiful henna into everyday life - at home, on your own terms.

From Henna Artist to AWRAQ

With over 10 years of experience as a henna artist, our founder knew how much people loved intricate, hand-drawn henna, but also how difficult it could be to find the time, money or opportunity for an appointment.

So she began transforming her original henna designs into stencils, making them possible to recreate at home.

Today, every AWRAQ design is still drawn by hand, combining the artistry of traditional henna with an easier way to enjoy it.

The Story Behind Our Designs

Our designs aren't simply patterns - many carry a story.

Some began as hand-drawn designs created for customers long before AWRAQ existed. Many are named after women, adding a personal meaning to the designs and reflecting what sits at the heart of AWRAQ: femininity, self-expression, self-love and self-care.

The Shaima stencil, for example, was named after the customer it was originally created for.

It's a small detail, but it represents what we want AWRAQ to be: personal, meaningful and made with care.
